for those of you who dont know, i did design & tech for A level. i desgined a slick looking kettle (modest i know) but when i came to the actual realisation it was shockingly bad. i mean an absolute pile of crap. it weighed about 5kg, couldnt hold water, was made from toxic fibreglass and didnt even look good.

this brings me to the idea of building a structure that will hold a huge amount of weight and not fall apart. im clearly not working to my strengths.

another factor is what my message actually is about. if i build an eco-friendly design studio what will i have achieved?

i think the main aim of this project is to encourage others to consider the ecological effect the design industry has on the environment. stuff like using vegetable inks, recycled paper, reduced waste, using sustainable materials and harnessing renewable energies such as wind and solar power.

im not trying to be a hippy or anything, although id love to build a treehouse for the fun of it (maybe a summer project), but maybe a more practical approach would be more effective.

people arent gonna build treehouses, but they might start using recycled paper, they might even turn to more renewable and sustainable energy resources; but i think its a bit naive to think we'll all run off to the woods. yet.
